I began my work life at 16 when I joined the Australian Navy as an Electronics Technician. On leaving the Services, I trained in disability studies to then develop and implement some successful community-based disability employment programs. I then returned to study Personnel Management and I spent some years as a university lecturer. We moved to the UK as a family and I took a role associated with the International Labour Organisation researching disability in the workplace.
I completed a Masters in Vocational Training and then became the manager of a Red Cross employment and training program working with disadvantaged youth in vocational training and employment. Here I successfully build new courses and acquired government funding to extend our programs across the state.
Further study in teaching provided me a role in the transition from school to work for students with multiple barriers to employment. Again, back to study a Masters of Guidance & Counselling that led to work as a High School Guidance Officer working on career guidance of gifted students with an autistic/Asperger’s profile.

Autism/Aspergers Career Coaching
Many clients who identify with autistic/Aspergers struggle with the levels of ‘talk and text’ involved in face-to-face coaching and gravitate to my video coaching and digital resources and graphics.
Specifically focussed on autism/Asperger issues, I have developed sixty digital Coaching Cards that each cover a strategy or concept followed by suggestions or examples for its use. These cards are sent in a photo format designed to fit a single screen on the phone or tablet.
